prooftxt.com publishes independent preparation guidance for offensive-security certifications. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by any certification vendor.

What this site is, and is not

Everything here is informational. Exam formats, prices, durations and policies are set by the vendors and change without notice. We record when we last checked, but the vendor's own page is always the authority. Do not book an exam on the strength of a figure you read here.

Nothing on this site is a guarantee that you will pass anything. Preparation guidance is not a substitute for doing the work.

Exam content

We do not publish exam content, and we do not want any. No live exam machines, hostnames, credentials, attack paths, flags or answers appear on this site. Lab write-ups cover retired or publicly published material only. If you believe something here crosses that line,tell us and we will take it down while we check.

Trademarks

We use them to identify the certifications we write about, which is nominative use. No endorsement is claimed or implied.

Our content

Text and diagrams on this site are ours unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote us with a link. You are not welcome to republish pages wholesale, or to feed them into a product that reproduces them as its own.

Contributions

If you send us a write-up, you confirm it is your own work, that it contains no material covered by an exam NDA, and that you are happy for us to publish and edit it with your name on it. You keep ownership; you give us permission to publish. Say the word and we will take it down.

Links out

We link to vendors, labs and other people's write-ups because they are useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

Liability

The site is provided as is. We are not liable for a failed exam, a wasted voucher, a decision made on out-of-date information, or anything else arising from your use of it. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not use the site.

Changes

We will update these terms when the site changes. The date at the top tells you when we last did. Continuing to use the site means the current version applies.
